You CANNOT get that error message from the USE command. Can't be done.
File corruption is pretty rare if your environment is stable. I've never had
a corrupted form file (although I know people who can corrupt them on call,
it seems).

Dan,
Thanks.
I already stated the error message - "error loading file - record
number 22. command8 <or one of its components>. parent: object class
is invalid for this container."
Among the three possibilities, file corruption should be the reason.
I can of course get from backup and lost some works, but what is more
important is why such thing happen and is it very common and if there
is any preventive measure.

There are several things that might prevent a scx from opening with
the USE command:
* Missing SCT file (restore from backup)
* Outright file corruption (restore from backup)
* SET EXCLUSIVE ON and another process has the file open (close it!)
Without knowing what error message you're getting nobody can guess
what may be going on.

"open the fileset as a table" do you mean type in the command "use
formname.scx"? No, it can't open.

Suer - open the fileset as a table (use formname.scx) and browse
the memo field in record 22, look for the offending 'thing'.

Hi,
I was making some modifications to a simple form, a form that
contains just buttons that call other forms. What I did was to put
them into pageframes and rename them to more meaningful names
(e.g., changing from command19 to
cmdExit). Then when I tried to run the form, it asked for save (I
said Yes), then it said "error loading file - record number 22.
command8 <or one of its components>. parent: object class is
invalid for this container. From then
on, I could no longer open up this form, even in design mode. Is
there a way to recover?
.
