Re: Intercepting Internet Data

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Bernhard,
My cursory internet search so far for sniffers seems to indicate that,
as you say, are all (mostly?) designed to monitor/manage network
traffic. I'll keep looking.

My real intention? Twofold: I want to intercept text sent from an
internet poker site to analyze player tendancies, etc Then, in real
time, act on decisions based on these analyses. This is known as a
"bot" (short for robot I guess) and has been done many times and are
available for sale. In short, I want to reinvent a "better wheel",
with a better interface, etc.

Thanks for your help.
Steve

Hi Steve,

Thanks, Bernhard. I think I need the "sniffer." I can handle the data
once I capture it. The other end are servers that I have no way of
knowing their hardware, software or databases.
So you may search the internet for network sniffer.
Such tools are normally used for managing and trouble shooting the network and
watching the traffic. 0This is normally not a job for which you would use foxpro.
What is your real intention?
