I've heard the name Postgres a lot lately. Maybe that's a good one to learn.
Any opinion on MySQL? It's free too, right?
And SQL Server Express is supposed to be pretty cheap.

WebDB from IBM (prior name DB/2) Rock Solid.
I thought DB/2 was a mainframe dbs. I guess things change.
