OTOH, would you or maybe the one asked you consider Linux, Apache, MySQL
and PHP?
I work with LAMP, and while it's quite capable, it's not xBase, nor
can it do the things VFP can do anywhere as easily. I wish we had a
good IDE for PHP, with builders, etc. It would work great for a lot of
apps, and while the client would not be as rich as a java client would
be, it would perform much faster then a java applet would. Plus you
would not need to enable java, nor would you need a JVM of the correct
version.
