Re: Corrupted table in VFP9

Was this table created in an earlier version of VFP, say 6.0 or 7.0 ? if so
you may want to use the 'Set tablevalidate to 0' in the main prg file. I know
this to be a problem with 8.0 and specifically to tables included in DBC's
created in earlier Pre 8.0 versions of vfp.

Data corruption in Foxpro is usually caused by a machine turning off.

Make sure any PCs running your application are plugged into a battery
backup.
It could also be a problem with a Hub/Switch loosing power. You should also
have these plugged into a battery backup as well.
If your problem is network related, you should be able to determine this by
copying a large (300 megs or bigger) across the network. I suggest using a
Zip file for this test. This way you can run the CRC test on the file once
it has been copied. Do this test a few times in a row. If the CRC test ok
after a few test it is most likely not a wire or network card.
Hope this helps

Sounds more like a piece of flakey hardware. Maybe a switch is going bad,
or a cable that has a bad connection. This truly sounds more like a
hardware issue.

I think my program is OK, because sometime we have this problem every day,
sometime we do not have for weeks.
I try to stop the Virus checker. I hope that will help.
Thank you again Bob.

Sandor,
Try stopping any Virus checker from going into the data folder.
From my experience, this appears to prevent the problem arising in the
first
place.
Be sure your VFP code is correct and complete.

But we have this error ten times per day. It means every time I have
to run
your program. I think this is not the best solution.

Very often, but not every time we have the following error

The table will need to to be repaired before using again."

Is it a program error or network one?
