Foxpro is also re-inventing itself as an Open Source sort of product. So,
even though MS may not actively develop it, the Open Source community is
improving VFP which amount to major feature additions to the product. Look
for it to be more like PHP and the other Open Source languages in that
regard. Examples include web development (ActiveVFP), multi-threading
(MTmyVFP), and the various new features in VFPX. Check out CodePlex:

We owned a few copies of Visual Studio back in the day, and that's where
our VFP 6 came from. We are planning to purchase VFP 9 but have a few
questions. We're currently running the SP5 version.
1. Is 9 still current? Plans for a future version?
2. Will the 9 install, if it's an upgrade purchase, allow us to keep
version 6 on our systems?
3. What is the upgrade path, and is it through MS, through a reseller, or
either/both?
Pricing on this? We are a small shop, currently two, maybe three VFP
users, and will also purchase for a client who bought VFP 6 stand-alone,
so any info on any differences in the upgrade path appreciated.
All workstations in question run XP/Pro, nothing older, also nothing
newer.
Thanks in advance.
