I would assume that what he means by "footer" is a row at the bottom of the
grid which contains information and does not move just like the header is at
the top of the grid. I'm guessing but he can correct me if I'm wrong.
I could see a use for this with something like an AR aging where you might
place the totals in the "footer", column headings in the header, and
scrollable details in between. This way the totals would always appear on
the screen while the grid is scrolled through.
I've accomplished this with textboxes at the bottom of the grid but I can
see the value in having it build in.

You're not being very specific. What do you mean by footer? How do you
want
to color each row?
Anything is do-able with the VFP grid, and much has already been done. If
you can be more specific someone will surely come up with some
suggestions.
