Fred,
nothing like that, and nothing other that longitude, latitude and definition
for N,S,E,W
(NO TRICKS WHATSOEVER)
Fun to figure out (one of those head slappers, "why didn't I think of that")

General answer: North Pole.
There may be other places where a magnetic compass will act screwy enough
to do the same thing. ;)

An oldie:
A hunter leaves home on foot, walking south two miles. Then he is
spotted by a bear, which chases him two miles west (the hunter is
fast on his feet). Having escaped the bear, the hunter walks two
miles north back home.
What color was the bear?

Matthew Reed asked that I post some of my nasty questions. Here
are a few.
Since we in the computer field deal with many different areas of
knowledge, it behooves us not to think we know when we do not.
These questions are carefully designed to elicit an almost
immediate answer which is wrong. Correct by my standards means that
relevant details must be considered, not just the most obvious one
and
that if a question has more than one answer, just giving one of them
is not enough.
If you think you have the answer but can not see how there might
be some other answer, you probably have the wrong answer.
1) Which weighs more: an ounce of gold or an ounce of feathers?
2) You are in Alberta, Canada. You travel due east crossing
exactly
one interprovincial border and find yourself in another province.
Which province are you now in?
3) A person dies one hundred years to the day from his birthdate.
How old was he when he died?
Sincerely,
Gene Wirchenko
