Hi Arcadefx,

I'm with Altman about trying the Beta. You can download it from
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro/ and it's definitely stable enough for you
to learn a lot while waiting for the live version. If you need to actually
release applications soon then you'll have to balance the cost of buying
VFP8 now against the problem of waiting until February for VFP9.

As Craig mentioned, MSDN subscribers get access to RTMed software shortly
after it goes to manufacturing, as well as having access to other versions
of Visual FoxPro and loads of other useful stuff. For more see
http://msdn.microsoft.com/subscriptions/. An MSDN subscription can really be
a bargain if you need to other software in addition to VFP, but the licenses
are for development, testing, and demonstration only, which covers what
you'll be doing as a VFP developer.
