Hello,
Over the last month or so, more often than not, I've been running into
explorer.exe errors randomly when I'm working in VFP8. The error is as
follows:
Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.
The error signature reads:
AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1221 ModName: comctl32.dll
ModVer: 6.0.2800.1342 Offset: 00055859
Has anyone else seen this? I did a search on Google, and there's a number of
posts that describe exactly what I'm seeing (except for VFP being involved),
but there's no solution as far as I can tell. The C:\WINDOWS\WINSXS\ folder
that holds this particular comctl32.dll looks like it may have came from
hotfix KB833998, but after uninstalling that one hotfix, the folder, file
and error remains.
My system is WinXP Pro with all updates/hot fixes/service packs installed
(except KB833998).
Thanks. Any help would be appreciated, this is getting on my nerves...
