if you use sourcesafe for vb now and it works for you, then foxpro will be the same. a long as you delete the copies that are checked out after you're done editing.
actually i never thought of using it like that. i never leave source code on a clients machine. i used to. now i remote control back to my office, do my edits, then recompile and grab back the executable.
my office is always the master copy.
usually its the other way around. i hardly go out into the field except for meetings. i usually do my changes in the office, grab client data if i need to, then recompile and upload an executable.

Dear Jay,.
You r correct. I like that after deloyment of my sourcecode. I am
going to keep the source code at clients PC for any future updation or
bug fixing. but wanted that the client can not able to open the source
code.
In MS sourcesafe, we have the password protection. without given the
password no one can able to open the source code.
The same way it has worked with my VB forms but I am not aware of
VFP. Does it work.

source safe helps to protect you only from messing up your program
because it saves each version of your changes, provided you check each
program out and back in when your done making changes.
or are you talking about protecting you from someone stealing your
source code or you program once it is deployed?
