Is there any API which can be used to get the HD Serial no of a folder
linked with DFS(Distributed File System) in Win2000 and Win2003 servers.
GetVolumeInformation of Win32API works fine for normal network paths and
mapped drives.
But with DFS the above returns 2 no.s when the normal network path(original
location) and the DFS path is used.
Ideally both HD nos should be the same since they access the same drive from
its original location.
Seems to be instead the above function it returns the DFS linked drive HD
serial no. instead of the original drive.
Is there any way to over come this ? Please advise.
