If you actually BUY Microsoft Office, registration numbers are included. (hint, hint)It's not really that unusual these days to get a new computer and it has a copy of word 2003 on it and it will run in an evaluation mode. Has caused some problems for us on some laptops we have bought as they had word on there (standard version) and when installing office 2003 pro it would not work without uninstalling the standard version.
You can also try Open Office, which is free.
