Emails larger than 50K between Exchange 2003 servers remain queued

          I have a problem where internal emails, between exchange 2003 servers,
    which are larger than 50K, remain queued and eventually timeout due to
    exceeding the retry and timeout period. Has anyone experienced this problem
    or has a resolution.
          There are 5 Exchange servers in the network and the MAPI client is
    Outlook 2003.
          Any help will be appreciated
