RE: Some embedded images won't display over IMAP

Hi Alex,
This is a known issue in Outlook and Word. For this message, we can see the
embedded image when using a MAPI client. However, the image will be dropped if
we retrieve this message via POP3, IMAP or HTTP (OWA).
The problem is the way that WordMail inserts Pictures into an RTF message.
Instead of using an OLE attachment it uses the picture and places the data inline
to the body. Thus if you look at the MAPI structure of the message you will see
no attachment for this picture and if there are no other attachments there will
be no PaperClip indication of the attachment either. When the message is needed
to be retrieved via POP3, IMAP or HTTP channel, then RTF message will be
converted to HTML format, at that time, the image is lost. Therefore, it is an
Exchange side problem.
I really regret to let you know that currently there is no hotfix for this problem.
Actually, our develop team is working on it now. If you want, you can also
directly send your suggestions and feedback to our product group at the
following link. They are appreciated and will be evaluated for future improvement.

I hope the information above answers your question. If you need further
assistance on this issue, please let me know.
