Hi Mikael,
I don't fully understand what your HP software is reporting but it basically
sounds like it is reporting a large number of Reads from disk? If that is
the case then that would most likely be very normal. Especially if that is
the report from the Exchange database drive. Exchange does an excellent job
of managing memory and grabbing every bit of it that it needs in order to
work efficiently. If you are truly concerned that you have an Exchange
performance issue then I would recommend taking a look at the following
White Paper.
Troubleshooting Exchange Server 2003 Performance
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/2003/library/e2k3perf.mspx
This document applies to Exchange 2000 as well.
PS. Remember that most 3rd party tools don't take into account Exchange.
Exchange is a very specific product and has specific needs from CPU, Memory,
Disk etc ... don't rely solely on a 3rd party performance tool to provide
you accurate information about your Exchange servers performance.
Hope This Helps,
