Exchange 1018 Errors

We are currently experiencing a few 1018 errors on our
Information Store. The online de-fragmentation is failing
each night. Our information store is almost 50Gigs in size
and the errors have been going on for longer then we have
a working backup from. What is my solution for fixing
this?

1. Could I create another database on the server and do a
move with my users to the database?

2. Use the Exmerge and export everyone to a PST and create
a new database and import them back in? What will happen
to the corrupt spots in the database? Will it fail on the
export?
