=> First of all Don't worry about Event Service. You don't need that until u
r running any Event Scripts.

Now coming back to ur database question:
"You should never touch the logs unless u know what you are doing."

Missing logs is most likely the cause of your current problem.

Run the following command on the priv1.edb,
Eseutil /mh Priv1.edb

In the output, check out a line called "Logs required".
For example it will be something like "Logs required: 2345-2348"
Put the number 2345 into the scientific calculator and then cover it to
"Hex". The result will be something like 929.
Find out if you have a log file with that name E00929.log.
In order to bring the database to clean shutdown, you need all logs starting
from E00929.log to E00.log

Here are the resolutions if u cannot find those logs:
1) Restore from previous backup.
2) Repair the databases. When u run repair you should also run the defrag
and isinteg.
