Re: Outlook 2003 disconnects from Exchange 2003 Enterprise edition on DC Reboot

All domain controllers are set up as Global Catalogs, we did this on our
last server upgrade from 2000 to 2003 server... made our 4 DC's all Global
catalog holders. and the GC that each user is connecting to is the same as
the logon server (logon domain controller)... is this the expected behavior?
thanks!

Every once and a while one of our Domain controllers needs to be
restarted. For updates or hardware changes, etc. When this happens we
take only one of our DC's down at a time, leaving 2 others running. But
when we take one down Outlook on the clients mysteriously lose their
connection to exchange during the time that it is down, no mater which
one we take down. Then comes back up when it turns back on. Why does this
happen? is there anyway to stop if from doing this? We cant do anything
at all in outlook that depends on exchange during this time! anything we
can do to stop this or make it less noticable? also why does it doe this?
thanks!
