Hi,
This may be slightly off topic so lambast me if you wish.......
I have an W2k3 standard edition server with exchange 2k3. I use Veritas
backup exec 9.1 as backup software. Two days ago I had to reinstall exchange
due a problem with the store.exe not releasing physical memory when other
process needed it. After exchange was removed, veritas was also removed.
After reinstallation, configuration and restoration of exchange software and
data (and fixing the store.exe memory leak thing), I reinstalled Veritas and
patched it up, checked the software over and found that in the backup
selection list, the exchange server was not found. The microsoft Information
store was visible, but the public folders and mailboxes have disappeared
(mailboxes are ok and functioning in a normal environment).
Now I've spent literally 3 hours on the phone with veritas trying to reslove
this, but it turns out that it doesnt look to be a veritas problem as the
fault/issue exists within the ntbackup software that comes packaged with the
OS.
Has anyone seen this before, or has anyone got any ideas, as I am completely
stuffed at this point and cant see the wood for the trees! Pleeeeeaseeee
help!
Many thanks
Paul
