     If the user is going through an ISP, then they probably won't be able to
     reach the Exchange server because the ISP will probably have port 135
     closed. So, your options include:
     
     1. VPN
     2. OWA
     3. Terminal Server
     4. Outlook 2003/Exchange 2003 -- RPC over HTTP
     
     Otherwise, the user can work offline with their .ost file and then sync up
     with the server whenever they get back into the office.
