Hi Dave,

By default Exchange 2000 out of the box is closed as an Open Relay.In the
Relay settings "Only the list below" should be checked and the only thing
that should be in this list are any 3rd party Servers that generate mail and
send it outbound through this server. You do not need to put in your Subnet
for your uses to be able to send mail. At the bottom uncheck "Allow all
computers which successfully authenticate to relay, regardless of the list
above". If this is your only Exchange Server in the Org this is all you need
to do. If you have more than 1 Exchange Server and you have one as a
Bridgehead for outgoing mail you will need to add the IP address of the
servers in the "Only the List Below" box. Also make sure that the Guest
account is disabled.
