This was posted earlier, but I now have a different issue, with a different
question. I will start this post with my original post...

I currently have 2 Exchange 2k servers within the same
domain, but differnet locations and subnets. Location A
has the primary Exchange 2k server which receives all
email and routes them accordingly. Server A stores about
half of all Exchange mail boxes, while Server B stores the
other half.

These two servers communication via a dedicated frame link
between the two locations.

Both servers were originally in the same routing group. I created a new
routing group and moved Server B to that new group. I created a new Routing
Group connector for each RG. Mail flow's fine in that configuration. I
created an SMTP connector for each RG as a back when a dedicated link goes
down, but when I create a new SMTP connector for each RG all outbound mail
just sits in the queues. It eventually gives a 5.5.0 smpt:55 Requested action
not taken: mailbox unavalable. When I delete the SMTP connectors, the mail
begins to move normally. I set the cost of each SMTP connector to 100, and
had it use an external static IP address as the smart host with the local
Exchange server as the BHS. The address space was set as SMTP * w/cost of
100. Am I missing something, or is this type of configuration not possible?
Any help would be appreciated.

James
