Outlook doesn't care about WINS or what it uses for network name resolution;
the OS does. And Exhcange ultimately still wants WINS, so I'd use it....but
AD relies on DNS. As long as all servers & clients specify *only* the
internal/AD-integrated DNS server's IP address in their network settings, it
should work fine (the AD-integrated DNS server should be set up with
forwarders to the ISP's DNS servers for external resolution and/or use root
hints).

That said - what's happening to make you ask this? What's your client OS?
