What is the status of the queue? You can find this out by going into the
properties of the queue and at the very bottom you will see a status. It
will be below "retry..remote delivery". It will say something like
"connection dropped by remote host" or "Could not bind to destination
server in DNS".

| Hello,
| I'm new to Exchange server and I'm trying to configure the MS Exchange
2000. I have Exchange running and now I'm trying to send emails out from my
outlook through Exchange. However, when I send email from my computer I can
see that email sitting on the queue of my Default SMTP Virtual Server and
never going out. Pretty much I have default settings but something must be
missing.
| Are there any quick steps that would verify SMTP configuration?
| Any help is greatly appreciated,
| Les
