Outlook 2002 prompts for password in domain

During a recent password change implemented through AD group policy we had a
problem occur on 3 workstations out of 100 total workstations. When the users
open Outlook 2002 they are prompted for username, password, and domain. We
are running Windows XP Pro clients with Exchange 2000 running on Windows 2000
server in AD 2000/2003 environment. Trouble shooting -
1. I've logged into another workstation with one of the problematic users
and setup Outlook profile. Result - no password prompt when Outlook starts.
2. I've logged into their workstation as administrator, renamed their
profile windows xp profile, then logged back in as the user. Result - no
password prompt when Outlook starts.
3. In trouble shooting step 2, I've renamed their original profile back and
Outlook works great without prompting for password the first time. BUT after
rebooting the workstation Outlook goes back to prompting for password.

My educated guess is Outlook is still seeing their old domain password
somewhere in the Windows XP profile or registry? Any ideas? Thanks,

Ryan
