Intermittent mail delivery on 1 mailbox

i have a really weird issue here..
i just changed one user's delivery location from MAILBOX to a Personal
Folders file. At the same time i setup their new Ericsson mobile phone to
access their email - it is set to just download the headers. That works fine
too..
Now for the problem...
The user receives some email but not other mail.. For instance, several
emails where sent via an automated service - they never arrived.. a few
messages were sent from a contact - they never arrived. I then sent several
test emails from an several external accounts including my personal home
account and a hotmail account - they arrived all OK.. So some mail arrives
(usually when you are sitting on the phone asking the sender to resent) yet
other mail is not being delivered.
Is it something to do with the email access via mobile?
Any other ideas? No other users on the exchange network are having this
problem. There is even one other user who is using same exchange setup
(delivery to PST) and using the same mobile phone for email access who is not
having this problem. Just this one user.
