| Hello,
|
| Thank you for posting here!
|
| If I understand correctly, after you migrate mailboxes from Exchange
| server 5.5 to Exchange server 2003, these mailboxes cannot be
| accessed from Outlook and OWA. If I have misunderstood, please let
me
| know.
|
| Based on the information, I suggest that we perform the following
| steps troubleshooting:
|
| 1> How did you migrate the mailboxes? Are the Exchange server 2003
| and Exchange server 5.5 in the same Exchange organization?
|
| 2> Are the mailboxes on Exchange server 5.5 associated with accounts
| in Windows NT domain or accounts in Windows 2000/2003 Active
| Directory?
|
| 3> Update the Recipient Update Services to see if it helps:
|
| a) On the Exchange 2003 server, open Exchange System Manager.
|
| b) Expand Recipients -> Recipient Update Services. In the right pane
| is a list of all Recipient Update Services, in this pane right-click
| each Recipient Update Service, one at a time, and then click
Rebuild.
|
| c) Expand Recipients -> Recipient Update Services. In the right pane
| is a list of all Recipient Update Services, in this pane right-click
| each Recipient Update Service, one at a time, and then click Update
| Now.
|
| 4> In Active Directory Users and Computers, open the properties of
| the problematic user account.
|
| 5> On the E-mail Address tab, how many addresses can you see?
|
| 6> On the Exchange Advanced tab, click Mailbox Rights button. Make
| sure that SELF has "Read permission" and "Full mailbox access"
| permissions.
|
| 7> In Outlook client, create a new mailbox to see if it helps.
Please
| refer to the following article:
|
| Q195718 OL2000: (CW) How to Create a New E-mail Profile for Outlook
| http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q195718
| 8> If the issue persists, create a new user account, and create his
| mailbox on the Exchange server 2003.
|
| 9> Update the Recipient Update Services manually again. Can you
logon
| to the mailbox you created just now from Outlook?
|
| If anything is unclear, please feel free to let me know.
|
| Have a nice day.

| |
| | just migrated 75 users fine from exchage 5.5 to 2003, and all
| exisitng users
| | can
| | access their mailboxes, but new users (all clients old and new
are
| outlook
| | 2000) can not resolve their names to the new
| | mailboxes (OWA doesn't work either), although they appear in the
| Global
| | Address List. Nor do they get SMTP addresses generated for them.
| Server is
| | Global Catalog. Anyone seen this before?
