This is a problem with XP. If you go to Control Panel
and "user accounts", you will have the oppotunity to
change the passwords for the user for a number of
different services. One of them is the server. I think
you have to go into "Manage Passwords". It appears that
everytime you change your Domain password, you have to
come in here to change it as well.
Once you have changed that password to reflect the new
Domain password, it works fine......until next month.!!
I have not resolved that issue yet.
What it looks like to me, is the old "<usename>.pwl" file
that you used to have in Win95 and win98. This file used
to store all of your passwords that you wanted to save for
all of those logon dialog boxes. When you change the
password in XP that is prompted from the server, it
doesn't go an change it for the locally stored password
DB. Wherever that maybe.
I haven't had a good look, but I assume that Microsoft
will fix this shortly.
Regards
Barry
