Real problems uninstalling Exchange 2000

Hi,
I have what I think is a really difficult problem on a server.
Long time ago, we install a Exchange 2000 Server on a server with Windows
2000 on a server named "serv-serrano" with a domain named "grupo-serrano".
When we finish the installation, we start to add machines to the domain, but
when we try with some machines with Windows 98 installed, was not possible
to add it because the domain name was so long for this system. We was very
lack of knowledge on this time (not much more now), and we change directly
the name of the server and the domain too, and as it was "the last machine
on the domain", the domain was completely deleted. When we tried to open
later the exchange server, was not possible. And all this time it's not been
a problem because we buy another program to use it. But now, 4 years later,
we want to change to Exchange 2003 Server, but, as is normal, this says
another installation is on the domain server.
However, we tried to uninstall from the CD but this was not possible. Give
an error and close when uninstalling progress is starting. We need help,
because we don't know what to do.
I know is a big trouble, but I think this is a clever forum :)
Really thanks in advance,
Gregorio Aranda.
P.D.: Sorry for my bad english :)
