Re: Change Membership of a Distribution List

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

in our AD we have a root domain and several subdomains (for each continent).
A universal DL is created in subdomain 1 and everyone can see this DL in
Outlook and all members get mails.
Now I want to give a user from domain 2 the right to addd and remove members
of this DL via Outlook.
Normally no problem, because it is possible for this user with several DLs
in domain 2.
All Exchange Servers are configured in one Exchange organization, but the
servers belongs to their domains.

Hope it's clearer now.

Do you have any idea?
Dirk

I don't understand what you mean by "Now I have a DL in one Subdomain
called domain1.network.com"...how did you create this DL? isn't it a
universal distribution group? had you run domainprep in theis subdomain?

Hello NG,

We have some keyusers, who have the right to add/ remove members from
several DLs. For this I added the keyusers under the Security Tab of the
DL and gave the right: "Write". So he keyusers have the opportunity to
change DL membership in Outlook.

Now I have a DL in one Subdomain called "domain1.network.com" and I added
a user from another subdomain called "domain2.network.com" and gave the
right: "Write".
I waited for the replication, but this user is not able to add/ remove
members of this DL in Outlook.

OS: W2k SP4 + E2k +SP3
DLs: universal DLs

Why is it not working if the DL is located in another subdomain? It works
perfect if the DL is in the same subdomain.

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Dirk
