OWA - emails with attachments yield "The page cannot be found"
- From: "Kevin" <netwarefan@xxxxxxxxx>

Topology:
2 MS Exchange 2000 SP3 servers
1 MS Exchange 2000 SP3 Front End server (OWA)
Symptom:
Various users (but not all) that access OWA are unable to open email
messages with attachments. Attachments can be anything from a Word doc
to an imbedded .gif file used for someone's background. These same
emails open for the same users in Outlook. When they attempt to open
the email in OWA, they are presented with:
"The page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name
changed, or is temporarily unavailable."
This just started happening out of the blue. Nothing in the event logs
would lead me to a cause and I do not run URLScan. It's so wierd
because I, with my user account, can open an email in OWA that has an
attachment, forward it to my test account and cannot open it using that
account and OWA.
I've been searching all over the net but almost everything leads back
to tweaking the urlscan.ini but again, I did not install the IIS
lockdown tool.
I have disabled the TrendMicro ScanMail and tested but that was no
help... which was a long shot anyway since some users are having no
problems.
Please help if you can.
thank you,
Kevin
