I have a problem with exchange message journaling.

I have a problem with exchange message journaling.

Exchange is set to archive all mail to a AD contact with an external
address so all mail is routed out.
All the internal mail is being sent to a 3rd party application for
logging and reporting but all the mail has from <> in the header
instead of the origional senders email address.

Does anyone know if it is possible to force exchange to send the mail
as the origional sender?

The correct From: <user@xxxxxxxxxx> is lower down in the header thread
but the top just says From <>
