Re: How to change directory

Hi Jason,

Moving the databases is very easy. You simply do it thru the ESM by
specifying the new location. The ESM will dismount the databases and move
them for you. The same is true for the log files.

Moving the install directory on the other hand is a completely different
task. I will basically require that you perform a disaster recovery on the
Exchange server in order to get the binaries on another drive.

I would recommend that you instead consider moving to an A/P cluster.
Microsoft strongly recommends against A/A clusters for Exchange as they
cause more trouble than they are worth. You could do this simply by
evicting on of the nodes and building it as a new cluster and new EVS. Then
use move mailbox to move all of the users to the new 1 node cluster. Once
that is complete you can decommission the other node and add it into the
cluster as the passive node.

Hope this Helps,

I have a active/active cluster installed with
exchange2000+sp3+win2000+sp4.Now I have added SAN in this cluster,so I
would move exchange database to new drive.

1.How to move R:\EXCHSRVR\MTADATA directory from one driver to another
driver(ex.S:\EXCHSRVR\MTADATA)?
2.How to move R:\EXCHSRVR\ExchangeServer_VS01 directory from one driver to
another driver(ex.S:\EXCHSRVR\ExchangeServer_VS01)?
3.How to move R:\EXCHSRVR\VS01.log directory from one driver to another
driver(ex.S:\EXCHSRVR\VS01.log)?
