Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi David,

Thank you for your prompt response.

Sorry for any delay due to the weekend. Please note that the newsgroups are
staffed weekdays by Microsoft Support professionals to answer your
non-urgent, break/fix systems and applications questions. Our goal is to
provide 24 hour response to all questions.

David, I would like to let you know that if we enable SSL, we can only use
the port 25. I'm afraid that we are unable to change for another port and
this is hard-coded. I have also performed tests on my side and verified
this behavior. So if you would like to use the port 587, you may need to
disable SSL on the Exchange virtual server and the client email account
settings.

In addition, I would like to let you know that like SSL, TLS encrypts user
names, passwords, and message data, but it does not help protect traffic
that travels from clients to the server. After enabling TLS on the Exchange
Server, we also need to configure the client to "require Secure Password
Authentication" in the email account settings.

Hope this addresses your concerns. If you have any questions or concerns,
feel free to let me know.

Have a good day!

Thanks & regards,

Winfred Weng
