Did you use the disaster recovery switch and duplicate the database naming format. same drive c:\first storage group\ect. and same server name.
Mount the database first, check the allow this database to be over written option, dismount the store and then try the restore again.

I have a situation where a RAID has failed and the System State backup of the
Exchange server is corrupt. In order to get the users back in production,
the old mail server has been removed from AD. I am now attempting to recover
the old mail.
I have set up a new server in the same site and administrative group, with Exchange SP3. Backup Exec is refusing to restore the databases to the new server, even with redirection enabled.
Remote Backup Exec components detected, version (8.60.3808.0).
Restoring data to \\NEWSRV\Microsoft Information Store\First Storage Group .
Storage Media #2: " Media created 2/22/2005 06:00:06 PM " Backup performed on 5/17/2005 at 6:17 PM Backup set #40: " Corp Tue " Restore started on 5/19/2005 at 2:06:16 PM. Access denied to database Mailbox Store (OLDSRV). ^ ^ ^ ^ ^
The only help I can find on Veritas' site require me to build a completely new forest, establish trust, and restore there.

Can anyone suggest anything less that will allow me to get the EDB files off
the tape? I realize I've still got a long haul to extract the data out of
them once I have them, but as is I can even get to them.
