Hi,
Your only valid option is to use a front-end server. If you have another
public IP address, create a host name mail2 in the public DNS, forward this
IP address to the new server (no need to rename anything in Exchange) and
have the migrated users connect to this new host name - but this is not very
user friendly as you as part of the migration will have to tell the users
which external OWA host name to connect to.
