Hi Luciano,

Thanks for your update. I have done further discussion with my colleagues
and deep research on your request.

The check mark "Maintain Per User Read and Unread information for this
folder" means that when user A reads an item in the public folder that item
will be marked read only for that user. By default, this option is checked
for all new-created Public Folder. The issue you encountered before is much
possibly caused by that the option has been disabled incidentally. In order
to keep Public Folder with correct Read/Unread information, the option must
be checked. This is also a recommended configuration.

Since this option may cause unexpected result and inconvenience for
Exchange Server, it has been disabled in Exchange Server 2003. So it is
expected to see correct Read/Unread information for Public Folder after
enabling "Maintain Per User Read and Unread information for this folder".

Hope I clarify it clearly. If there is anything I can do, feel free to let
me know. Thanks!

Thanks & Regards,

Lee Li
