RPC over HTTP is a great feature and I use it daily. To give you a short
answer, if you use Outlook 2003 with Exchange 2003 then it essentially takes
place of having to use a VPN connection. It is very secure as it requires a
Certificate, whether your own or from a CA, over port 443. I personally use
www.instantssl.com, very low cost and secure. This will not impact your
users, only remote users who will love this new feature. I am going to post
a links which explains how to set this up correctly on the client and
server.
