The MAPS test may be a good deal more comprehensive than some others.
To be truly conclusive, an open relay test needs to attempt to relay
mail through the server being tested in a number of different ways.
Some servers which appear at first site to be secure actually aren't,
if the sender of Unsolicited Bulk Email uses one or more fairly well
known tricks to defeat the relaying restrictions.
In addition, it is possible that your server isn't a conventional open
relay at all, but a machine vulnerable to SMTP AUTH hijacking as

Does the output of the MAPS RSS test provide technical detail concerning
the results that it is submitting to you?
