I am having problems emailing a couple of addresses.
I am sending emails from within our local network (so not trying to
relay).
I get the following bounced back message:
Status: 5.5.0
Diagnostic-Code: smtp;551 This is not a relay host - mail must be to
or from host domain.
and also:
Diagnostic-Code: smtp;554
<dsl-210-15-194-54.TAS.netspace.net.au[210.15.194.54]>: Client host
rejected: Access denied
I have tried the following:
1) Tried telnetting to our mail server and manually sending the email.
It succesfully queues for delivery - but bounces a few seconds after
being queued.
2) Checked the MX records for the destination host are correct on our
internal DNS server.
3) Checked that there is no SMTP Connector set up for these domains.
4) Tried setting up a smarthost connector for these domains to use our
ISP's mail server instead (but got a simular can't relay message).
5) Text-searched the exchange directory for these domains to see if
they were hardcoded into the original exchange setup (for routing).
6) Checked the host files.
7) Looked in the DNS server for any sort of routing configuration for
these domains.
I can't seem to find anything that is wrong. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Kim
