I'm running Exchange2k with the native Instant Messaging installed. Some
users can't login however and they receive the following error:

"signing in to Microsoft exchange instant messaging failed because the
password is incorrect or the sign-in name does not exist."

All users are signing in exactly the same way.

Has anyone seen this before? We're using Windows Messenger ver. 5.0 on
Win2K professional. The one user who can sign in successfully has their
mailbox homed on the RVP server, the others do not. My IM account works
fine and my mailbox is NOT homed on the RVP server, however i do have total
admin rights across the board. The Exchange connection option in the IM
client is the only one selected (that is, .NET and SIP are not). I've also
modified the security setting on the Exchange\Bin folder as well as
msimsrv.dll as described in TechNet article Q307217.

Any thoughts? I'd rather not move anyone else's mailbox to the RVP server.

Thanks in advance!
