Okay here's one for all you gurus.
Perfectly fine exch2k box (pop, smtp and mapi), until I moved the logs to a
second drive and the priv.edb to a third drive.
All was fine for about an hour, now nothing - nada. Pop3 connects and sends
mail (no ndr), but cannot receive mail and the recipient says he/she never
got the message. Looking at the mailbox resources, I can see the message
number increment.
Using MAPI on the inside, my outbox is full. Even sending an email to
another collegue (via outlook - mapi) that works for me sits in our out
boxes.
I've run into all kinds of goffy things, but this one has at least four of
us mystified (including an Exchange guru here in town) and to be honest, I'm
a little concerned about trying to move everything back.
We keep current with latest services packs and hotfixes so we don't think
that's it.
Also, we've turned on MAX logging and there are no errors also no smtp
connections anywhere.
Nothing (we swear) has changed in terms of firewalls, dns, routing,
viruses, horses or worms (the last 3 we have none of).
This is critical - we've worked on this for about 2 hours.
I've set up a test email account like so: acct: emailtest@mentorits.com,
password: 002202 server (both) mail.mentorits.com. Feel free to try.
Server requires authentication, but we know that's not it because the server
has always required this.
Any ideas?
