Again, how exactly did you remove the domain with ntdsutil and adsiedit.

yes it probably is.
The child domain was removed using ntdsutil and using adsiedit.
I didn't had the opportunity to properly remove it using dcpromo and demote the last dc from the child domain.

thanks
Joost

Sounds like the child domain is still in the GC. How exactly did you remove the child domain?

hi

I'm unable to create an email address for a user in a domain.
Ik keeps saying it already exists.
I did exist in a child domain. Meanwhile the child domain and his exchange server are removed from the domain tree.
No, not on the proper way, I had to remove the child domain using ntdsutil and adsiedit. (and this is probably the cause of my problem)
Now I wanna create a new user in the main domain with the same email address the user used to have in the child domain. HOwever active directory still keeps finding the old email address.
I do see the old user is still listed in the address book.
I did ldifde -f export.txt and searched for the mail address but nothing can be found in the main domain.
I also tried a rebuild on RUS, but the address is still present in the address list.

Is there some way to remove that entry from the global address list ?
Or is that information still present in the GC ?
and can I change it ?

thanks in advance
Joost
