User Templates Blank

Got a strange one here. I am in the middle of a 5.5 to 2003 migration and am
running into a strange issue. I have used the ADC to migrate users/etc and
that is going fine. When I go into Exchange 2003 System Manager and go into
the Details Templates and then to the User template and try to populate the
template I get this error:
Template data format is not valid c1030899.
I get no template attributes and everything is greyed out. I cannot even get
the original back. So when a user is moved to the new Ex2003 box and they
type a new message and go to the properties of the user(in the TO: line) it
causes a Global Catalog server to get a Lsass access violation and it
reboots one of the GC's!! I have looked in the Schema and I can see the 409
English template and it looks correct but I cannot be sure as there are tons
of entries in there. Has anyone seen this before? Can you rebuild the
templates somehow? I have reinstalled Ex2003, reran Forestprep and
Domainprep. Called MS and they suggested that the schema was damaged and to
start over! I have never seen anything like this and have scoured the
Internet and the Private KB to no avail. If anyone has any suggestions let
me know.
THanks!
