Hello,
I'm performing an Exchange 2003 Enterprise Edition disaster recovery
restore. I'm trying as much as possible to not use our production
enviroment. So far I have restored the Exchange server OS (C:\ & Sys State)
all is well there. My problem is before I recreate the Exchange Info Store
structure I wan't to bring AD up. Again I don't wan't to use the production
enviroment. I"ve isolated Exchange in it's own network. My problem is I
have a spare Compaq server I wan't to use to restore AD. However, the AD
backup was done on a completely different IBM eSeries server. So far I see
only two alternatives.
1. Use the Compaq and restore the System State (AD....)
2. Use the Compaq build a Domain Controller and let AD replicate to it in
the production enviroment. Once replicated pull the Compaq AD is running on
out of the production enviroment and put it into my test enviroment and
proceed with the Exchange restore.
Is there a better/other way to restore AD on a different server?
E'm I going about this the right way?
Any and all suggestions welcomed.
Thank you.
