When you choose the properties of a server and go to the directory access tab. Most of these are set to auto detect. Does anyone know the technical details on how exchange 2003 finds Dc, Gcs and such. We are seeing detections that do not make any sense. We have a global Directory structure with 5 geographic domains, instead of finding local domain GCs our exch servers are finding Gcs from regional domains and causing problems, until we hard coded local GC's.
Any information on this process would be greatly appreciated.
Before anyone asks we are not having AD problems, been functioning fine for 2 + years.
Thanks.
