E2K7 SP1 Configuring Storage

I have read the past posts on Storage Configuration.

I am currently using the newest mailbox storage calc spread*** and I have
read hundreds of pages of technet; white papers, etc. and yet storage config
for E2K7 is complexxxxxxx.....

However, I need to understand the Restore LUN.

When I configure the Storage Groups do I need to create a drive for this LUN?
