I'm really glad I'm not one of your users.

We have MS Exchanege 2003 Licences.
All users that will be on the exchange server to be able to "see each
other"
and have shared calendars / forms
Those who POP their mail from the ISPs will not reply from the Exchange
account,
Yes we will use the one account to reply from,
Right now I will anly do the training centre's users, therafter create
accounts for all others then they could retrieve mail from a hosted
exchange
server
What is POPBeamer? is it freeware I do not have any furthur budget- Im not
getting paid either!
I would like to test a solution for about a week with two or three usere
accounts...
i.e move some users to the exchange server whilst other users are still
POP'n mail..
Thereafter move all accross... ...
Thanks!!

Hi..
I need to set up a single exchange server 2003
Why 2003 and not 2007?
? that will work for our
training facility as well as a couple of NGO's(non profit
organisations)
Do you want them to be able to see each other in there, or is this more
of a
"hosting center" type of solution where they'll each appear to be the
only
ones in the GAL, etc?
Currently we have all mail being POP'd from different an ISP's in
outlook.... Some users POP the mail directly from the ISP (home or
work), . . .
whilst others do it locally,& their .pst file stored on a local
directory on the server.
Note that it isn't supported to access PST files across a network
connection - when you get Exchange make sure you cut that out.
Some ISP have alias accounts, and forward the mail directly to a
persons selected POP account
e.g
joe@xxxxxxxx mail is forwarded to joe@xxxxxxxx
jane@xxxxxxxx is POP'd locally and PST file is on the local server
john@xxxxxxx is POP'd POP'd locally and PST file is on the local
server peter@xxxxxxx POP'd at home
Paul@xxxxxxx is forwarded
This is a bit messy. To host all the mail yourself you will need to
own/manage all those domain names.
All server accounts will be: ----##@training.com
The ISPs manages the spam / firewall and MX records.
Is there a manner that I could setup the exchange server to POP
selective mail from the different ISP's
Not natively, no. POP connectors aren't recommended, either. If you must
use
one you might try POPBeamer.
I would like to try POP'n about 3 accounts from an ISP as a test,
Hmm - what exactly would that be testing?
setup shared calendars etc
You can set up local accounts & mailboxes and test that without bothering
with e-mail from the Internet, though.
In fact, to make the transition easier. I'd set everyone up with a
mailbox,
copy in the data they need from the PST file (and close the PST file),
and
set up Internet Mail accounts in this mail profile to download internet
from the various accounts with the ISP.
, before moving the MX records to the
server,
as well as keeping the forward and remote POP accounts at the ISP
level
So what Internet domain name would you be hosting? If it's only the
training.com one, note that the users won't be able to reply from
me@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx All replies & new messages will come from
training.com - even if the ISPs' forwards get all the other mail into
that
mailbox.
to reduce traffic over and exiting dail-up line.. (PS this is
Africa)
Ah.
thanks
