RE: Test-MapiConnectivity failure on Exchange 2007 in coexistence

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hi Simon,

Thank you for taking the time to write back to me.

I have checked the log files. However, the latest records in the
Application log is 2008-3-27. So are the Event logs collected from the
Exchange 2007 server or the Exchange 2003 computer? The records are too old
and out of date I think. Please have a check on the Exchange 2007 server.

Based on the current logs files, there isn't any error regarding our issue.
According to your reply and further research I suspect the current mailbox
role is corrupted and cannot work with the Hub server role or there may be
something wrong with the mailbox store. Let's continue our troubleshooting:

1. Changed the Hub Transport service to start with the local system account
if it is not.

2. Create another Storage Group and database, then move the mailboxes to
the new storage group and dismount the old one. Then please check whether
the issue still persists.

By the way, could you please let me know whether the Exchange 2007 server
has ever worked before to send/receive emails?

If the issue persists, please try:

a. Send a test mail from the Exchange 2007 server and use Message Tracking
to track the mail flow and see where the mail is being blocked. (If
necessary, please send screenshot to me to illustrate the tracking results.)

b. Re-collect the latest Event logs from the Exchange 2007 server and send
it to me again at: v-robmen@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let me
know.

Thank you for your time and cooperation!

Best regards,

Robbin Meng(MSFT)
